The entire world is in chaos. Set off on an interactive scavenger hunt style game through downtown Boston. Do you have what it takes to survive the Zombie Apocalypse?

Discover a different side of Boston while having fun with your friends on an action-packed zombie scavenger hunt activity. Using an app on your smartphone, search for a list of survival items scattered throughout Boston and earn points for finding these items.

Whether this is your first-time visiting Boston, or you are a local looking for something different and fun to do with friends, this is a great way to get outside and explore the city.


YOUR MISSION: Zombies outnumber the living 10 to 1 and small colonies of the living are struggling to survive. You are part of a small group of survivors, just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. You need to go downtown, beginning at Faneuil Hall Square, and scavenge for much needed survival supplies.

You'll be given a list of items such as food, bandages, vehicles and more on the app. The more supplies you find and take pictures of on the app, the more points you’ll earn, increasing your chances of survival. Also, along the way, you will be asked to answer some trivia questions and do some zombie style challenges for which you will be rewarded points. You and your team of up to 10 people, using your smartphone, have 1 hour!

It won't be easy! Zombies are relentless. Rival colonies are closing in, and they will take what you worked hard to find.

  • No actual zombies are involved!
  • This is a private experience played with for you and your team of up to 10 people.
  • A one-hour game with a remote interactive host available to help you with clues.
  • You can play at a time that is works best for you.
  • Fun for adults and children.

How it works:

  • Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
  • When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
  • Following the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app, you’ll go to your starting location outside Faneuil Hall Square on the day you want to play.
  • You'll be given the list of items to find on the app. You can search for these survival items in any order you would like.
  • Once you locate an item, you’ll take a picture to prove you found it.
  • The more items you find, the more points you earn and increase your odds of survival.
  • You are not required to buy anything during the scavenger hunt.
  • During the game, a remote guide / host will be following your progress via the App. Via the chat feature in the app, the remote host can help you if you need assistance.

What's included:

  • A self-guided scavenger hunt style walking game.
  • 1 hour with a remote interactive survival guide / host.

When:

  • Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday - Sunday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
  • If you prefer, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Duration: 1-hour

Walking distance involved: 1-mile approximately

Need to know:

  • You can have up to 10 friends / family members on a team. The ideal team group size is between 4 and 6 people.
  • You can divide into teams if you are a large group and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items the fastest!
  • You download the scavenger hunt app onto as many phones as you'd like.
  • To play the game you will need an Android or iOS or Smartphone with data plan.
  • Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done via your smartphone.
  • The game is played outdoors in public spaces.
  • The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you explore Boston on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible. You be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.

This is a great experience gift for that hard to buy for person in Boston who enjoys scavenger hunts and games … and a little bit of that Zombie apocalypse thing!
