Dive into the history of Greenwich Village and visit some of the best small businesses owned and operated by immigrants, women, and people of color. Greenwich Village has long been an epicenter for social change and grass roots activism and this tour reflects on its impactful past.

Your tour begins in Washington Square Park, where you’ll see the famous arch and fountain, and learn about the park’s history as a hub for rallies, protests, and performances. From there, you’ll stroll down the charming streets of Greenwich Village, past iconic building and historic brownstones.

Along the way, you’ll see some of the neighborhood’s most famous landmarks, including the Stonewall Inn, the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, and the former homes of literary giants like Mark Twain and Edgar Allan Poe.

Throughout the tour, your expert guide will regale you with stories of the fascinating culture and history of Greenwich Village, from its bohemian roots in the early 20th century to its role as a haven for activists and movements. And of course, you’ll try some delicious food along the way!

This tour includes the following carefully curated tasty stops:

Pommes Frites: Authentic Belgian style frites (aka fries!) and delectable dipping sauces.

  • This food tour is Vegetarian friendly. Vegan and Gluten-free are currently unavailable on this tour.
  • Please advise of food allergies or dietary restrictions when you reserve your tour time.
  • The tour size is limited to 14 participants.
  • Tours run rain, shine, or snow.
  • Dress for comfort and wear walking shoes. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please dress appropriately for expected weather conditions and walking.
  • This tour is wheelchair accessible. There may be one or two stops along the way without a wheelchair ramp and with a small step up but most stops have a ramp or are street level.
  • Your dog is fine to join you on the tour if you don’t mind leaving them outside when you go inside establishments where they serve food.
