Avoiding zombies in Memphis during an apocalypse – what could be more fun?

Put your imagination and zombie-apocalypse survival skills to the test on a smartphone-app based scavenger hunt style mission to defeat virtual zombies. This engaging activity puts a new spin on sightseeing, introducing you to Memphis from a whole new perspective.

You are part of a small colony just outside of Memphis, Tennessee. You must go downtown, starting from Handy Park, to scavenge for survival supplies like food, bandages, vehicles, necessities, and more with your team members. You’ll take pictures of these survival items from a list provided to you on the app. Along the way, you will be asked to do some challenges or answer some trivia questions to be rewarded virtual tools to ward off the zombies.

Zombies are everywhere and relentless. Competing colonies are roving around. If you are not careful, they will steal from you items you worked hard to find..

• A remote host / guide via the app is there to assist you if needed.
• No actual zombies are involved in the scavenger hunt!

How it works:

• Using a dedicated app, Zombie Scavenger Hunt gives you a list of items needed to survive an apocalypse and zombie themed challenges for even more points.
• Registration instructions will be provided to you once you have activated your Breakaway Experiences' certificate.
• When you are ready to play, you’ll register with the experience provider and download the app called "GooseChase" onto your smartphone.
• You’ll go to your starting location in Memphis’ Handy Park on the day / time you want to play. Follow the directions provided to you in the Zombie Scavenger app.
• You'll be given a list of items such to find on the app. You can find these survival items in any order you'd like.
• Once you locate an item, you’ll take a picture to prove you found it. You are not required to purchase anything during the scavenger hunt.
• The more items you find, the more points you earn and increase your odds of survival.
• You won’t be alone. During the game, a remote guide / host will be following your progress via the App. The remote host can help you in case you need assistance.

When:

• Zombie Scavenger Hunt customer support hours are Tuesday-Sunday from 9am-5pm.
• If you prefer, you can play anytime, outside the customer support hours.

Duration: 1-hour

Need to know:

• You can have up to 10 people on a team. The optimal size for a group is between 4 and 6 people.
• If you are playing in a larger group, you can divide into teams and play against each other to see who finds all the survival items the quickest!
• You can put the scavenger hunt app on as many phones as you'd like.
• Nobody will be physically there with you during the game, dressed as Zombies. Everything is done through your smartphone.
• The game is played all outdoors in public spaces.
• To play the game you will need an iOS or Android Smartphone with data plan.
• The experience is wheelchair accessible. It is an open scavenger hunt, where you can explore the city on your own terms. There is no specific route, therefore you don’t have to go anywhere that is not wheelchair accessible, nor will you be asked to find anything that could not be accessible in a wheelchair.
